Relevance and function in Canon Law
The work intends to highlight the specific relevance of the "responsibility of the faithful", in its double meaning of responsibility-imputation and responsibility-active commitment. The juridical dimension of vocational responsibility, in which belonging to the Church is substantiated, realises the character of commitment and sacred bond proper to the original meaning of the term. The first meaning, on the other hand, even in the particularity it assumes in canon law, is ascribable to the model of juridical responsibility common to the other branches of law as well. The historical, theological and philosophical roots of the responsibility, and the current problems of the category in the legal sphere, constitute the necessary premises for the specific object of this research aimed at highlighting the peculiar contribution to the analysis of the concept that can derive from the relevance of the essentially legal dimension of the religious belonging of the faithful in the Latin canonical order.
