RIASSUNTO
The contribution is based on the culture of the encounter between the Islamic world and the Catholic world and takes its cue from the meeting that took place between Francis and the Sultan. The two men of faith, in fact, were similar in knowledge and in the search for peace, and were open to dialogue and encounter with those who were different. Even in contemporary society, an authentic culture of encounter must be fostered. Emblematic is what happened in 2019 between the Pope and the Imam of al-Azhar, of which the Encyclical “Fratelli tutti” constitutes a further development to be implemented concretely.
