ABSTRACT
The Cartabia Reform is proposed as an organic and articulated attempt to optimise the efficiency of the Italian civil process, following Italy’s commitment to the European Union to reform the national judicial system.
With this in mind, this paper seeks to verify whether this epoch-making reform may have repercussions in the ecclesiastical sphere, analyzing some specific provisions introduced with or following the reform. This, in particular, with regard to the exequatur procedure which, as is well known, represents, especially after the Villa Madama Agreement of 1984, a real crux interpretorum.
