ABSTRACT

After analyzing the history and constituent elements of the liability of “owners and clients”, the article examines the relevant civil and criminal case law, both legitimacy and merit, to conclude that the Diocese may be held liable pursuant to art. 2049 of the Civil Code for crimes committed by the Parish Priest during his ministry.
