This volume brings together the proceedings of a meeting held in Naples to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of a successful book by Francesco Zanchini di Castiglionchio, which is set against the backdrop of charismatic renewal, clearly inspired by St Paul, with which Catholic theology and canon law had to contend, especially during but also after the Second Vatican Council. The volume is completed by an appendix containing a recent work by Zanchini on primacy, the people and the council, and another by Raffaele Coppola on the controversial figure of Martin Luther.
