SERIES “DIRITTO E RELIGIONI”MARIO TEDESCHI 28 – Impegno civile
This volume aims to present some of the most recent issues in the international treatment of the right to religious freedom. Far from claiming to disregard the traditional meaning of this right (which, if anything, they presuppose and aim to rework), they require the interpreter to look at the issue of freedom rights with rigour and renewed attention. In doing so, the volume traces the democratic transition in Eastern European countries, the scenarios opened up by the so-called “Arab Spring” uprisings, and the tedious survival of anti-Jewish and anti-Palestinian prejudices. It reinforces, with new means and arguments, the already tested and shared principle of the rights of religions and cultures.
