SERIES “DIRITTO E RELIGIONI”GIUSEPPE LEZIROLI 13 – La Chiesa in Italia oggi
The new religious configuration of Italian society, marked by the strong expansion of Islam and the spread of cults and beliefs on the borderline between religion and psychology, has inevitably affected the interpretation of legal categories related to the religious phenomenon. While doctrine and jurisprudence had already encountered problems related to the lack of a notion of religious confession, a certain degree of confusion arose when it was deemed necessary to rethink, also in order to give it a defined legal content, the figure of ministers of worship, which, in the increasingly complex religious landscape that characterises social reality, appeared excessively elusive. Starting from an analysis of the regulatory framework, this volume proposes a redefinition of the concept of minister of worship, highlighting its importance in the current dynamics of relations between the state and religious denominations.
