Abstract
Jacques Maritain’s juridical-philosophical thought can certainly be considered the most important attempt to bring Human Rights back into the context of Christian Natural Law; an attempt at reconciliation carried out in the perspective of philosophical «realism» and which, as is well known, represented a real turning point within the catholic world, which generally, at least up to of John XXXIII’s pontificate, was inclined to see Human Rights and Christian Natural Law in clear opposition to each other. The article aims to highlight the conceptual features of this juridical-philosophical perspective and tries to underline its main characteristics and its limits.
