ABSTRACT
The contribution retraces the history and artistic value of the Sistine Chapel of Savona, built by Pope Sixtus IV in the 15th century as a mausoleum for his parents and as a testament to the patronage of the Della Rovere family, and of the Della Rovere Polyptych, a masterpiece of Ligurian Renaissance art commissioned by Giuliano della Rovere (the future Julius II) from Vincenzo Foppa and completed with the help of Ludovico Brea in 1490.
